WILL Statement on Assembly Passage of AB 900

 Legislation is a Win-Win-Win

The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL) released the following statement after the Wisconsin Assembly voted in favor of Assembly Bill 900, legislation that “decouples” public school spending from spending on parental choice and independent charter school programs in the state of Wisconsin:

“Today, the Wisconsin State Assembly voted to pass Assembly Bill 900, a bill that would improve our state’s school funding system and result in hundreds of millions of dollars in property tax relief to districts around the state. By “decoupling” public schools and voucher spending, we can create a finance structure that is fairer and simpler for public schools, public charters, and the voucher program. AB 900 is a win for taxpayers, a win for public schools and a win for choice and charter schools. We hope to see action from the State Senate and Governor Evers soon.”  – WILL Policy Director, Kyle Koenen
