Before oral arguments this morning, Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson of the Wisconsin Supreme Court selected, by random drawing, the four court of appeals judges who will sit on a committee to nominate the next member of the Government Accountability Board. The judges are:
- Judge Ralph Fine (District I)
- Judge Paul Reilly (District II)
- Judge Michael Hoover (District III)
- Judge Paul Lundsten (District IV)
This spring, those four judges will meet to review the applicants to fill the GAB seat of Judge Thomas Cane, whose five-year term will expire in May. The committee must forward at least two names to the governor, whose choice for the appointment must be confirmed by a two-thirds vote in the State Senate.
