Since at least 2020, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has made changes that obscure the true performance of schools, making it harder for Wisconsin families to make informed decisions about their children's education. ...
WILL has launched a comprehensive effort to eliminate “diversity, equity & inclusion” programs in all levels of the federal government ahead of the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump. The effort in total represents at least $124 billion in federal spending and mirrors the Trump administration’s stated goals of eliminating DEI – and all race-based programs – because they are unconstitutional and unlawful.
WILL endorsed new legislation (LRB-0976) by Senator John Jagler (R-Watertown) and Representative Bob Wittke (R-Caledonia) to reverse the years-long process of lowering academic and performance standards by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI). WILL believes these changes have been made to hide declining academic performance of Wisconsin schools since 2020.
WILL published a new survey of Wisconsin parents in partnership with 50CAN, a national, nonpartisan education reform non-profit. The report highlights the lack of information parents have about their school system, including the true costs per student the state spends. WILL and 50CAN propose new measures to boost transparency and accountability in education.
WILL applauded the Wisconsin Legislature’s Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules (JCRAR) for suspending an unconstitutional administrative rule that violated the Second Amendment rights of Wisconsinites. The vote was a bipartisan 7-2 vote.
WILL has filed a new federal civil rights complaint against the Ohio-based Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center for its discriminatory education, training, and scholarship programs.
