The News: Today the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL) testified at an Assembly Committee on Family Law hearing in support of AB 510, otherwise known as the Parental Rights Bill.
That testimony can be viewed here. WILL clients from our recently won parental rights case, Autumn and Tammy Fourtiner, were present and provided their testimony as well.
The Quotes: WILL Deputy Counsel, Luke Berg, stated, “We should all be able to agree that parents, who know and love their children more than anyone, should be the ones to decide what is best for them. This bill simply cements that right. Schools should not be taking on the role of the parent.”
Will Associate Counsel, Cory Brewer, stated, “Parents should be equal partners in the education of their children. This bill helps set the expectation that parents and families in the community should be and will be involved with the local public school district. We hope the legislature takes this opportunity to protect parental rights and to do what is best for children.”
